Session Description: How will trust work when the Internet has 5 billion users? Come hang out in a restored Chinatown factory, and meet with the team behind Basno, the digital badge platform, and BlockSign (http://blocksignit.com), the Bitcoin service for signing documents. Basno CEO Nicholas Thorne will discuss the team's thesis that the Internet will be 100x better when it is 10x more trustworthy. They will explore questions of the state of trust today and the role of technology in establishing (or limiting) trust.

  • Company Description We build products that build trust. We are fascinated by a world with 5bn internet users and finding models for establishing trust that can succeed at that scale. We have developed two primary products to that end. The first is basno (http://basno.com), a platform where people collect digital badges and certificates. The purpose is to help people create and benefit from completely trustworthy profiles. The second is a service launching in August built on the technology that powers Bitcoin.
